'Just Enough Evidence to Print'

justenougheducationtoprintcover.jpg

Release date: June 16th 2001

The Stereophonics official biography. The book charts the history of the band is a documentary style story of growing up in Cwmaman, and their rags to riches lifestyle.

Kelly says "We've got a book coming out which is as official as it can be. We've actually done the interviews for this book with Danny O' Connor who's one of Radio One's top journalists. We've been talking to Danny for years really, doing interviews from the very beginning so there's plenty that hasn't been printed before.

The book is not so much a 'rock n roll antics on the road' sort of book, although there's plenty of that in there, it's more of a Melvyn Bragg, South Bank Show, documentary style story about kids growing up. In a way it's a fairytale rags to riches story and the book documents our backgrounds. It brings to life where we come from, the working class ethic of the place and follows the story of our youth through to when we got a record deal. There's detailed explanations of what the songs are about and where they come from and then the madness of hitting the bright lights. The madness of it all, getting off our brain with God knows who. It's a really well documented book, it details everything from the stories of our videos through to my interest in films.

We wanted to do the book because there was a lot of other books being written about us which were basically thrown together from a collection of music paper articles and so they were very inaccurate. This is as clear as it's going to get...." (from www.stereophonics.co.uk)
